I recognize it when I hear it but I cannot figure out how to do it. Not like I really wanna do a Migos type song, I jsut want to be able to do basically everything in this genre.
Đang xem: Triplet flow là gì
It's just three notes per 1 one beat. So if you've got the standard four beats in a bar, you'd count it something like this:
ONE-e-uh | TWO-e-uh | THREE-e-uh | FOUR-e-uh
it seems the migos flow consists of one syllable per note there with a few change ups every now and then.
ver-sa-ce | ver-sa-ce| me-du-sa | head on me|like I'm lu|min-na-ti | | |
it's more like:
ver | SA-ce ver | SA-ce me | DU-sa head|ON me like|
I'm lu min|NA-ti — |
It's not a big difference but basically the middle syllable in versace is the beginning of each triplet and thus is the accented sylable
thanks to both of you guys, now that i got it i can't understand how i ever found this hard to grasp
my music teacher taught me pine-app-el pine-app-el (pineapple) for triplets and app-le app-le app-le for duple.
its how they flip the pitch and count syllables, migos usually writes in multiples of three when it comes to syllables, they usually are 9 or 12 per line. some other guys who use that flow like asap ferg, krit or older heads like bone thugs follow the same pattrn as that 12 syllable but then introduce swing by making it 10 or 11… but it all comes down to the same thing, triplete notes as the bulk of the line, thats 3 or 6 notes per beat.
edit: con-tra-ban nar-cot-ic con-tra-ban, smo-king o-g from af-ghan-i-stan, i got the can-dy they call me the can-dy man
The easiest way to count it out IMO is to just say the word triplet with 3 syllables. like “trip-a-let” four trip-a-let's is a whole measure in 4/4 time.
Do you dabble in making beats and wonder how they'd sound with someone rapping over them? Have you ever wanted to try your hand at rapping but don't know any quality producers? Hell, if you just want to provide input in any way, we at r/makinghiphop would appreciate it.———————————————————New Banner and icon by u/emeetswvrld
